Strong winds and possible tornadoes moved across southern Mississippi on Friday, pushing trees and power poles into homes and businesses. A possible tornado knocked a 4-foot-diameter oak tree onto a mobile home in Vicksburg, Mississippi causing one injury. Several other possible tornadoes were reported around the Jackson area. The storms continued to move into the Southeast Friday night as tornado watches were issued for much of northern Georgia and the upstate of South Carolina. The storms will continue to move east and northeast overnight and could impact portions of Eastern North Carolina by early Saturday morning with gusty winds and heavy rainfall.
