In 1975, the biggest snowstorms on record for this late in the
season occurred in northeastern IL. Chicago's O'Hare Airport was
shut down after 10.9" fell. 20" was reported in extreme northeastern IL.
In 1987, 11 cities in Florida recorded new record low temperatures. Tallahassee, FL fell to 31 degrees while Key West, FL broke its old record by 13 degrees when the temperature dropped to 48.
In 1988, New Orleans, LA picked up over 9" of rain which caused
$18 million in damages. A tornado also tore through Slidell, LA.
