Across the East, a line of strong thunderstorms developed in the
Northeast during the late afternoon and evening hours before
weakening and moving out to sea. Hail up to the size of nickels and
wind damage occurred in New York, Pennsylvania, Massachusetts, and New Jersey. Showers and thunderstorms were reported along much of the East Coast and Gulf Coast during the afternoon hours. Wind damage was reported in Georgia as well. These storms fired along a stationary front located from the Southeast to along the Gulf Coast and into Texas. Isolated thunderstorms also developed in Florida
during the afternoon, but dissipated after sunset.
