Heavy Rain Across Portions Of Coastal North Carolina

Eastern North Carolina had another round of showers on Tuesday. Most of the rainfall was fairly light but some heavy showers did move into coastal areas during the the late morning and early afternoon. During the late morning a tornado warning was issued for Jones, Onslow and Craven counties, although there were no official reports of damage. Since Sunday New Bern and Jacksonville have received the most rainfall in the area. Some rainfall totals since Sunday until 8:00 pm Tuesday include:

New Bern - 1.27"
Jacksonville - 1.01"
Greenville - .45"
Elizabeth City - .43"
Harkers Island - .39"
Washington - .37"
Lake Mattamuskeet - .36"
Rocky Mount - .30"
Kinston - .25"
