Body of young girl found, mother had been carrying her to safety

PEGGS, Okla. (AP) -- Searchers have found the body of a
two-year-old girl who was swept away as her mother carried her
across a flooded creek in Oklahoma.
Mackinsey Beck disappeared into the creek after her mother
slipped while carrying her from their home to escape rising water
yesterday.
A state trooper says the woman had the baby on her shoulders
when she slipped and fell, and that the baby was carried off by the
rushing water.
A much as six inches of rain fell yesterday as severe
thunderstorms pounded parts of Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri.
In western Tennessee, a man is missing after being swept into a
flooded ditch yesterday, and a seven-year-old girl drowned in a
rain-swollen creek while playing with friends.
