A powerful winter storm swept into the Upper Midwest on Monday bringing high winds and heavy snow from eastern South Dakota, much of Minnesota and the northern half of Wisconsin. Some areas were expected to receive between 6 and 12 inches of snow before Tuesday morning. The storm should move into southern Canada by Tuesday afternoon ending the snow. The snowfall will come on top of the record amount of snow that has fallen across much of the Midwest this winter.
