Beneficial rain has once again moved into Eastern North Carolina. A warm and moist southerly air flow will continue to bring much needed showers to the area through Tuesday night. Rainfall since Sunday has generally been light but some heavier showers are expected before a cold front sweeps off the coast early Wednesday. So far rain totals have generally been between a quarter and half inch. Some rainfall totals from Sunday through 8:00 pm Tuesday include:
Jacksonville - .42"
Harkers Island - .38"
Greenville - .36"
New Bern - .36"
Rocky Mount - .30"
Washington - .28"
Goldsboro - .24"
