In 1899, a snowstorm which buried the abandoned mining town of
Ruby, CO under 141 inches of snow ended.
In 1938, a brick farmhouse to the east of Edwardsville, IL was
destroyed by a tornado. A house on the same spot had been destroyed
by a tornado on May 18, 1883 and a woman was killed.
In 1977, Hartford, CT rose to 87 degrees while Binghamton, NY
hit 95 degrees and set new record highs.
