Flights are mostly back on schedule at Chicago
An unusually potent late-season snowstorm struck the area
yesterday grounding more than 400 flights at O'Hare International
Airport. More than a dozen flight also were canceled at Midway.
Meanwhile, residents of small towns along Missouri's Meramec
River are happy to note the stream is finally cresting following
several days of flooding.
At Valley Park, near St. Louis, the river rose to a peak of 37.8
feet this morning, well above the flood stage of 16 feet but still
below the record of nearly 40 feet,
At least 16 deaths have been linked to the weather over the past
week, and two people are missing in Arkansas.
