After a brief reprieve from the cold weather it looks like freezing temperatures can be expected the next two nights across Eastern North Carolina. Interior sections should reach the upper 20s on Wednesday night and possibly middle 20s by early Friday morning. Coastal areas will be near freezing early Thursday and near 30 on Friday morning. The cold should moderate by Friday and the weekend with overnight lows above freezing through the period. The average date for the last freeze for interior locations is late March or early April while coastal areas usually see the last freezing temperatures of the season by the middle of March.
