The National Weather Service has issued a Fire Weather Watch from Wednesday morning through evening across much of Eastern North Carolina. Gusty southwesterly winds combined with low relative humidity will produce dangerous fire weather conditions. Southwest winds of 15 to 30 mph with gusts to 35 mph should develop by mid-morning with relative humidities dropping to around 25 percent. A burn ban is in effect so no burning should take place.
A Fire Weather Watch means that critical fire weather conditions are forecast to occur.
