An area of low pressure across the Southeast will bring abundant moisture northward into Eastern North Carolina on Wednesday. The rain will begin during the early morning hours and could be heavy at times during the early morning rush to school and work. Rainfall amounts are expected to be heavy along and east of Interstate 95 where 1 to 2 inches is likely before the end of the day. There will be locally heavier amounts that could range as high as 3 inches. The showers should taper off during the day but there could still be a few showers until early evening. Skies should clear by late Wednesday night.
