Eastern North Carolina Hits Record Highs

Temperatures soared into the upper 70s and lower 80s on Wednesday afternoon making it the warmest day on record for nearly all of Eastern North Carolina. Previous record highs had never gotten above the middle 70s. On Wednesday those highs were exceeded by 5 to 8 degrees across the area. Some cooling is expected on Thursday but temperatures will still remain above normal for this time of year. Some record highs for Wednesday included:

Washington - 82
Greenville - 82
Kinston - 81
New Bern - 81
Kenansville - 81
Jacksonville - 80
Elizabeth City - 79
Rocky Mount - 78
