A major winter storm will move through the Midwest bringing heavy rain, snow, ice and possible severe weather. Winter storm warnings for snow and ice extend from Kansas through northern Missouri, Iowa, Wisconsin, northern Illinois and Michigan. Portions of northern Illinois and southern Wisconsin could see as much as a foot of snow by Wednesday afternoon with strong winds and falling temperatures. Farther south severe weather was breaking out in southeastern Missouri, southern Illinois, and much of Indiana on Tuesday evening. The storm will move into the Northeast on Thursday bringing snow to northern New England and rain across coastal areas.
