Eastern North Carolina could experience record or near record highs on Tuesday afternoon as an unusually warm wedge of air moves across the area. Afternoon highs will reach well into the 70s across inland areas while coastal locations will hold closer to 70. Skies should remain mostly sunny along with a light breeze out of the southwest. The very warm temperatures will last through midweek and we could see record highs again on Wednesday. Previous record highs for Tuesday are as follows:
