A major storm system bringing snow and ice across the Midwest will bring some rain to Eastern North Carolina on Friday. Earlier Wednesday many awoke to a tenth to quarter inch rainfall. The system on Friday is likely to bring heavier rainfall which should average about one-half to 1 inch for much of the area. Temperatures should reach the 60s as the rain falls. By late Friday a cold front will push off the coast ending the rain and bringing clearing skies for the weekend. At this point both Saturday and Sunday look partly to mostly sunny with highs between 60 and 65.
