Major Winter Storm To Slam Midwest

A major winter storm will impact much of the Midwest by Thursday night. A strong area of low pressure will develop over western Tennessee late Thursday spreading snow, sleet and freezing rain from Arkansas through Indiana and Ohio. A Winter Storm Watch is in effect for portions of most Midwest states from Thursday into Friday. As much as 6 to 12 inches of snow is expected to fall across extreme northeast Illinois, Indiana, Michigan and western Ohio. Areas further south in those states will experience a mixture of snow, sleet and freezing rain. Temperatures are not expected to get above the middle 20s in much of the area on Thursday and Friday.
