Eastern North Carolina will experience a significant warm-up on Tuesday and Wednesday. Highs on both days will be close to 60 degrees. The milder weather is coming on the heels of what was a chilly weekend across the area. Temperatures have remained below freezing each night since last Friday. A cold front will pass off the coast on Wednesday afternoon followed by slight colder air for Thursday and possibly a light freeze on Wednesday night. By Friday many areas could see highs reach the upper 60s. There is a slight risk of showers with the cold front on Wednesday but a better chance of showers is likely with another frontal passage late Friday. For now the weekend looks partly sunny with highs each day near 60.
