Arctic air is settling southeast into North Carolina overnight. Areas east of the mountains will see temperatures fall into the 20s while mountainous locations will fall into the teens. Temperatures in Eastern North Carolina will feel more like the teens as a northerly breeze will continue at about 10 mph throughout much of the night. Skies will remain clear tonight and Friday. By Friday afternoon temperatures will struggle only to the 40 degree mark despite plentiful sunshine. The weekend should remain chilly with highs in the 40s and lower 50s and overnight lows at or below freezing.
