People Die Of Cold In Iran

More than 60 people have died from the cold weather in Iran over the past few weeks due to gas shortages in remote and mountainous villages. The supreme leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei on Sunday ordered President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad to implement a law approved by Parliament to supply more natural gas to remote villages. Ahmadinejad had balked at Parliament's order to spend $1 billion from the country's current reserve fund to supply the gas. Open disputes like this in Iran are rare.
