Winter will make an appearance in Eastern North Carolina after taking a break over the past week. The first half of the week had temperatures in the lower to middle 70s but warm temperatures will be a thing of the past by early next week. By Sunday and Monday highs will not get out of the lower 50s with overnight lows at or slightly below freezing in most inland locations. Skies will clear by Monday and there should be plenty of sunshine around during the first half of the week. The cool to chilly conditions should last through all of next week along with another chance of rain by Thursday or Friday.
