Showers On The Way

Warm and moist air has been surging into Eastern North Carolina Thursday night ahead of a strong cold front that should bring the first measurable rainfall to the area this year. The summer and fall remained extremely dry sending all of North Carolina into extreme to exceptionally dry conditions. The showers expected on Friday will be brief and will produce a few hundredths to a half inch in the heavier showers. After a brief clearing on Saturday a more significant storm system should bring beneficial rainfall to the area on Sunday. Temperatures will also return to reality with highs by Sunday and Monday only in the lower 50s.
