After a month with near record snowfall in December, Boston, Massachusetts had a record high temperature of 67 on Tuesday afternoon. Atlantic City, New Jersey had a record high of 68 while Syracuse, New York tied the warmest temperature ever in the month of January with 70 degrees. High pressure centered off the Middle Atlantic coast pumped warm southwesterly breezes bringing the warm air northward from the Southeast. The mild weather will last for the next few days but a noticeable cooling trend is expected by the weekend.
