A Frigid Night Across Eastern North Carolina

Temperatures plummeted into the teens across much of interior Eastern North Carolina Thursday night making it the coldest night so far this winter season. Coastal areas generally stayed in the 20s but stronger winds near the beaches kept wind chills very low. Overnight lows included the following:

Kenansville - 12
Jacksonville - 14
Goldsboro - 15
Rocky Mount - 15
New Bern 15
Greenville - 16
Edenton - 16
Kinston - 16
Washington - 16

Warmer weather will arrive for the weekend taking temperatures into the 60s by Sunday afternoon. The milder conditions will stick around the first half of next week.
