Coldest Night Of Winter

Temperatures will plummet into the middle to upper teens across interior sections of Eastern North Carolina early Friday morning. Readings on the immediate coast should stay in the middle to upper 20s. Regardless, the coldest temperatures since last February will be experienced by most communities. Temperatures will begin to moderate after Friday morning and should reach the middle to upper 40s in the afternoon. By the weekend a strong warming trend will take temperatures into the 50s on Saturday and 60s on Sunday. By early next week some areas could reach 70 degrees.
