Bitter Chill Hits East Coast

Falling temperatures and gusty winds have brought a bitter chill to the air across much of the East Coast. Temperatures as far south as Atlanta did not get above 30 degrees on Wednesday. The cold temperatures combined with strong northwesterly winds kept wind chill readings into the teens all day long. Further up the coast heavy snow continued to blanket much of New England as temperatures settled into the teens for highs. Very cold air will continue to impact the East through Friday but a strong warming trend is expected by the weekend and early next week bringing temperatures above normal and melting much of the snow and ice from the Great Lakes into New England.
