A Pleasant New Year's Eve

The last evening of 2007 and the first day of the New Year will see fairly mild temperatures. Overnight revelers will not have to contend with rain or cold temperatures. By midnight temperatures will range into the lower to middle 40s under clear skies. Overnight lows will hover near 40 at sunrise. By late Tuesday a cold front will zip through Eastern North Carolina ushering in much colder air for Tuesday night and Wednesday. There could even be a few snow flurries Wednesday morning. The coldest air so far this winter will arrive early Thursday as temperatures dip to around 20. Some moderation of the cold is expected by the weekend.
