Mild Weekend Expected

The last shopping weekend before Christmas will be unseasonably mild across Eastern North Carolina and the Southeast. Temperatures will jump into the lower 60s on Saturday and could reach 70 on Sunday. There will be a risk of showers developing on Sunday as a cold front pushes through the area. However, rainfall is not expected to be that heavy. Somewhat cooler air will move in for Christmas Eve and Christmas Day with temperatures returning to the 50s for highs.
