Very warm temperatures continued across the Southwest while a blanket of snow kept bitter cold in the Northeast. The lowest temperature in the 48 contiguous states was 19 below zero at Whitefield, New Hampshire. On the other extreme was Yuma, Arizona with a high of 90 degrees. Some moderation of the cold is expected in the Northeast over the next few days but more snow is expected late Wednesday into Thursday. Very warm readings will continue in the Southwest.
