High Wind Watch For Outer Banks

A developing storm system across the Midwest will move into Eastern North Carolina by Saturday increasing winds across much of the area. The National Weather Service has posted a High Wind Watch for most of the Outer Banks including Hyde and Dare counties from late Saturday night through Sunday evening. Winds are expected to reach 30 to 40 mph with higher gusts on Sunday. Further watches and warnings may be posted as the storm develops. Elsewhere a gale warning will be in effect for the coastal waters beginning Saturday evening.
