The vicious ice and snow storm that hit the Midwest on Monday and Tuesday shifted eastward and weakened on Thursday. The storm had left as many as one million power customers without any electricity. By Thursday all but about 250,000 customers had power across the states of Missouri, Kansas, Iowa, Illinois and Nebraska. In some areas areas ice had reached over one inch thick. Another storm is headed for portions of the Midwest and could produce a fresh coating of snow and ice from Oklahoma, Kansas and Missouri by Friday night. Winter storm watches are in effect for much of those three states.
