Record Highs Expected Wednesday

Two weeks until Christmas Day and temperatures could reach record high levels on Wednesday afternoon. Interior locations should reach near 80 while coastal areas will warm into the middle to upper 70s. The warm conditions will last into Thursday before temperatures begin to cool behind a cold front that will pass through the area on Thursday night. Record highs for Wednesday, December 12, include the following:

New Bern - 80
Greenville - 75
Morehead City - 72
Hatteras - 72
Jacksonville - 73

Temperatures will return to seasonably cool readings over the weekend.
