Eastern North Carolina experienced some unusually warm weather on the first day of the work week. Temperatures reached or surpassed record levels across the area. The Raleigh-Durham Airport had the highest temperature ever recorded during the month of December with a high of 81. Other locations having record highs included:
Greenville - 79
Washington - 79
Kinston - 79
New Bern - 78
Temperatures will remain well above normal through Thursday so record highs may be reached again.
