A winter storm warning goes into effect at 7 a.m. Friday for Beaufort, Dare, mainland Hyde, Martin, Tyrrell and Washington counties. A winter storm advisory goes into effect at 7 a.m. Friday for the rest of Eastern Carolina. The threats are snow, sleet and freezing rain.
There will be several holiday events across Eastern North Carolina on Saturday. The weather is expected to be mainly sunny with temperatures in the middle and upper 50s during the afternoon while overnight lows will dip into the 30s. The following events are scheduled for Saturday:
