As Sea Levels Rise, Beaches Erode

There will likely be an increasing amount of beach erosion as high-tides are pushed inland by rising sea levels. Although there are many questions concerning how human activity is causing global warming there is a consensus that ocean water levels are rising, and could even rise at a faster level over the next several decades. Experts looking at the problem are finding that beaches are slowly sinking on the North Carolina coast and that could make them especially vulnerable to erosion. The Coastal Resources Commission is trying to determine what role the state should play on this matter.
