Drought Worsens Across North Carolina

The drought has continued to worsen across North Carolina over the past several weeks. The current forecast for the winter from the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) offers little hope. The current forecast calls for a dry and warm winter across the Southeast. This year's rainfall deficits as of November 23rd were as follows:

Wilmington - 22.27"
Washington - 15.30"
Charlotte - 15.26"
Asheville - 12.85"
Greensboro - 11.12"
Raleigh - 7.99"
