(AP) -- A winter storm has dropped up to nine inches of
snow in Colorado, giving skiers and snowboarders a reason to be
thankful after a stretch of warm weather.
Vail Mountain opened one run as the snow fell. More resorts
around Colorado and other parts of the West plan to open some runs
this Thanksgiving weekend with a combination of natural and manmade
snow.
The storm only brought flurries to Utah but resorts still plan
to open by tomorrow. Two of Lake Tahoe's resorts -- Heavenly
Mountain Resort and Northstar-at-Tahoe -- plan to open on Saturday.
In the Northwest, two feet of snow fell on Mount Hood over the
weekend, allowing the Timberline ski area to open. Mount Hood
Meadows plans to open some runs tomorrow.
