Winter...Deep in the Heart of Texas

UNDATED (AP) -- Parts of Texas are getting an early taste of
winter, with cold weather and snow putting an end to an
unseasonably warm November.
The National Weather Service says as many as eight inches of
snow fell in the Big Spring area Thanksgiving. Abilene got about
four inches.
Abilene police say there were no road closures, but the heavy
snowfall did lead to some minor traffic accidents.
Parts of North Texas, the Panhandle and West Texas saw light
snowfall with little to no accumulation. A meteorologist with the
national Weather Service says recent warm temperatures kept the
ground warm and the snow melting.
More snow is in the forecast Friday for the Panhandle.
But the cold front across North Texas is expected to move out
Friday morning.
