November Temperatures Below Normal Thus Far

November could be the first month since June to average below normal in Eastern North Carolina. Since November 1 temperatures have averaged between 2 and 3 degrees below the long-term averages. October was a very warm month with most areas experiencing temperatures anywhere from 5 to 6 degrees above normal. The past summer was hot and dry. The lack of rainfall and increased sunshine likely enhanced the warmth of temperatures during July, August, and September. I'll give a final update on November temperatures at the beginning of December.
