North Carolina's drought has pushed the main reservoir for the city of Raleigh and seven surrounding towns to a record low 31 percent of its usual capacity.
The Army Corps of Engineers says the level of Falls Lake is just over 242 feet, or .16 foot less than the previous low set Nov. 27, 1993.
Much of the state needs more than 14 inches of rain. Water use restrictions enacted by the city of Raleigh helped cut water use by 37 percent. If there is no rain and use stays as it is, the lake has a 110-day supply.
