Coral Reef Preservation

Coral reefs provide important services to millions if not billions of people across the world. They are one of the most biologically rich and economically valuable ecosystems on Earth. Coral reefs are increasingly threatened by pollution, habitat loss, diseases, bleaching, and the effects of global climate change. There has been a rapid decline of these reefs recently and this could have significant social, economic, and environmental consequences in the United States.

The National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) helps coastal communities and others to better understand and manage coral reef ecosystems.
