What Attracts Deer to a Residential Area?

Popular landscaping plants are sought after by deer due to their high nutritional value and accessibility of plants. Deer will frequently enter residential neighborhoods particularly because they like azaleas and flowers. Residents who live in areas with high deer populations should accept the fact that planting ornamental flowers and shrubs are attractive to deer and they will likely incur damage. Fences, rocks, and other ornamental plants should be used when possible to reduce the problem. Plants should be selected for their resistance to deer problems.
