Thursday Rainfall

The latest drought monitor index released Thursday indicates the continuation of a moderate to severe drought across Eastern North Carolina. Most areas are still deficient by 10" to 20" this year. Thursday's rainfall did little to end the drought but at least some rain did fall. Rainfall amounts from Thursday include the following:

Manteo - .68"
Elizabeth City - .49"
Washington - .39"
Harkers Island - .32"
New Bern - .32"
Kinston - .25"
Jacksonville - .24"
Greenville - .22"
