A city in the east known for the bear is adding to its collection for its tri-centennial.
"Semper Fi bear" was unveiled at Coastal Carolina Regional Airport Tuesday morning.
The painted fiberglass bear is an addition to the city's public art project created to compliment the city's 300th anniversary.
There are about thirty bears up around the city. Officials say the bear painted by local artist Vicky Vitall was sponsored by many in New Bern and around the community and bares the Marine dress blues.
There are about a dozen more bears waiting to be unveiled as part of the public art project.
