If you are looking for the perfect Christmas tree this year you may be in luck.
NC Agriculture Commissioner Steve Troxler says this year's Christmas tree crop is one of the best he has seen in years. Troxler says the crop is better than ever because of cool weather this summer and adequate rainfall.
More than 96 percent of North Carolina Christmas trees are Fraser Firs, which are grown in the mountains. And they can certainly tell a difference at Justice Tree Farm in Onslow County. Owner Willie Justice says business couldn't be better, and the trees couldn't look any nicer. "Probably the prettiest trees that we have had that came from the mountains and also here on the farm."
Troxler says North Carolina's 2009 Christmas tree harvest should top 5-million trees from more than 1,500 growers.
