ATLANTA (AP) -- Police say an unidentified man became so angry when told in a Chili's restaurant he had to wait for a table that he left and drove his car into the side of the building.

According to a police report, a witness said the man walked into the restaurant and sat down. The man was told to get up and wait to
be seated.

According to the report the man said, "I've been waiting for over 30 minutes now."

Authorities said no one was injured and the man fled the scene before police arrived.

The report said he caused an estimated $10,000 damage to the restaurant.

That's GREAT! A drive-through at Chili's! I'm LOVIN' IT (no offense to McDonald's)!

30 min that is nothing to wait for geez..Chili's is my favorite restaurant so I really dont care how long the wait is...and if you are hungry and need to eat then sit at the lounge where there is no wait--first come first served plus you can go to the bar and get an appetizer at anytime!!! Personally I think Chili's needs to rethink the lounge from smoking to non simply bc in our chilis there is NO smoke serperation but thats how it is!!!

Fast Food are you kidding??? went to a McDonalds drive thru the other morning and waited at least 10 minutes. When I got to the speaker I ordered two breakfast biscuits. The girl told me they had stop serving at 10:30am. I told her I drove up before 10:30 but they were so slow in serving drive thru customers that 10:30 had just now passed. Her response, we stop serving breakfast at 10:30. I realize I was not dealing with a rocket engineer, but if you look in the camera and see a pile of cars it stands to reason you should continue to serve breakfast until the cars are gone! Oh I had left a Hardees earlier because looking at my watch, the three cars in front of me had not moved in over 10 minutes. Fast Food right. It's not good for you and is no longer fast!!!I know I should have walked in, but then why do they have drive thru?????

Apparently not. Alpha didnt mention the word Diabetes. :)

Posted by: to cooker on Jan 5, 2009 at 04:45 PM
I do read carefully and you didn't state to whom you were implying about. Thanks.

Posted by: COOKER on Jan 5, 2009 at 03:30 PM
It wasnt directed at Alpha so it doesnt matter. It was to ANOTHER who is serious about talking about diabetes. Please read carefully. Thanks

Posted by: to cooker on Jan 5, 2009 at 02:34 PM
I honestly think Alpha was being sarcastic

Kathy, if you dont like the wait, you should cook. There is usually a wait everywhere you go. Or pick a different time to go to dinner. Im sure the people that you say that to, dont care because its not going to get you a seat faster. I dont think this story has anything to do with diabetes...just ignorance.

I guess you can say they have a Drive Thru now huh?

I agree with what everyone has said but want to add to Alpha females point. A type 1 diabetic that takes insulin can have exactly this type of reaction if blood sugar gets too low. Very irrational, irate, cannot be reasoned with. If you see someone acting like that, try to tell if they are wearing a medical ID alert bracelet or necklace. If so and it says they are diabetic, some orange juice could save their life. Now since we didn't also hear that he was found crashed somewhere after this, either he got some food fast enough or he is just a jerk.

I bet that he could pick his seat in Chili's after he drove into the restaurant.

This is another example of people not having love in thier heart and paticnce. I mean what in the world is wrong with a person who can't wait? Leave, go to Mc donalds where FAST food is served. Get a life and stop being stuipd.

Just another example of the "ME FIRST" generation. Our society has too many rabbits and not enough turtles. People need to slow down and smell the coffee.

Uh, can you say bi-polar? This quack belongs in some sort of mental institution.

I feel his pain too. When going out to eat in Greenville, if I'm told there is a waiting list, I always say, "The only thing worth waiting on is Jesus and if he ain't here, then I'm not staying."

Economy in the tank, yet there is still a wait at Chili's? Hmmmm...

Posted by: Ed Location: Hookerton.NC on Jan 4, 2009 at 01:13 AM
About time Chili's got a drive in! Just kidding ! Talk about a moron. Glad no one got hurt. Bet some people had to go to the rest room!

His sugar must have been low...low sugar will make you do some irrational things. Or he could have been very hungry... or he just could have been tired of waiting!

Maybe he thought that he was at a drive thru.

Posted by: Mike Location: Greenville on Jan 3, 2009 at 03:50 PM
Lol, as over the top as this is, I feel his pain every time I try to go out to dinner on the weekend. I've finally found an awesome place to eat on the weekends with no waiting but I can't share it here or I'll eventually have to drive my car into it!
