Frankly Speaking About Cancer: Lung Cancer

The Cancer Support Community Eastern NC will host Frankly Speaking About Cancer: Lung Cancer – a free workshop for people affected by lung cancer. Fundamental information about the most current lung cancer treatments, strategies for symptom/side-effect management and tools for survivorship will be discussed. The speaker will be Paul Walker, M.D., FAOC will present this workshop which streamlines crucial resources available to people in treatment for lung cancer. Created by Cancer Support Community, this workshop includes a complimentary copy of the booklet Frankly Speaking About Cancer: Lung Cancer.

Frankly Speaking About Cancer: Coping with the Cost of Care: Part I

The Cancer Support Community Eastern NC will host Frankly Speaking About Cancer: Coping with the Cost of Care. The program provides a practical guide to navigating the numerous and complex challenges of managing the cost of cancer care and will cover how to gather cost information, health insurance, the Affordable Health Care Act, employment, disability and finance, prescription medications, Medicare/Medicaid, and identify helpful resources. This free workshop will be led by Social Worker Ginny Jackson and others from the Leo Jenkins Cancer Center and will be presented in two segments. The second segment of this workshop will be presented on Wednesday, October 29.
