Holiday Craft Fair and Book Sale

There are so many reasons to drop by the History Museum of Carteret County on December 5th. Over 50 vendors will be here with their crafts and handwork. You know our vendors—they create great stuff! On top of this, there will be hundreds of treasured used and antiquarian books for sale at clearance prices. And yes, there will be food! Our generous and talented volunteers and members contribute an array of delectable homemade cakes, pies, cookies, scones, breads, Greek pastries and candies to help support the Carteret County Historical Society. Bring your appetites and be prepared to purchase some goodies for the holidays.

Christmas Town in Ayden

Ayden will be celebrating Christmas by having a night called Christmas Town in Ayden. Downtown Ayden businesses will having specials, drawings and give aways. There will be an outside market with over 25 vendors on Lee Street. We will also have Santa and Mrs. Claus in our Christmas Village from 4pm to 6pm on West Ave by the stage. Guests will also find hayrides from 4 to 6, dinner specials at local restaurants and Christmas Carolers from 6 to 6:30pm along the Christmas parade route that begins at 6:30.

ShamRock! For Local Music Festival

Why not celebrate St. Patrick’s Day along with the Beaufort Music Festival? On Sunday, March 16, beginning at 3 p.m., come to downtown Beaufort and enjoy food, beer and wine specials and great live music on Middle Lane.

This is a special celebration – the 26th annual Beaufort Music Festival line-up will be unveiled, local favorite The Spread will play their first live show in months and some new, exciting changes to the festival will be made public. Tickets include music and food and all proceeds from beer and wine specials will benefit the festival. If you look forward to the Beaufort Music Festival each May, as a local homeowner, business owner or purely a music lover, please come to show your support.

Interested sponsors are invited to a special lunch to be held on the same day before the fundraiser. Local band Kudubai will be playing for this invitation-only affair. If interested in learning about festival sponsorship levels and packages or participation in the sponsors’ lunch, please contact John Hackney at

Tickets for the three-hour event are $10 and all proceeds benefit the Beaufort Music Festival, which will be held during the weekend of May 10, 2014. Advance tickets can be purchased at from the Backstreet Pub, Clawson’s Restaurant and Hannah’s Haus in Beaufort.
