David McCullough, Pulitzer Prize Winning Author, to Speak
at Third Concert of the Bryan Cultural Series

Be mesmerized by David McCullough, Pulitzer Prize winning author and historian, as he presents the third program in the Bryan Cultural Series on Sunday, Sept. 29 at 7 p.m. at First Flight High School auditorium.

“Enjoy a stunning performance by a man who has been widely acclaimed as a ‘master of the art of narrative history,’ ‘a matchless writer,’” said Bob Muller, chair of the Bryan Cultural Series Board of Directors. “Indeed, David McCullough will maintain our promise to bring nationally recognized talent to the Outer Banks.”
McCullough is researching a new book on the Wright Brothers. He will discuss his research into the people and events that surrounded the famous day at Kill Devil Hill when the world first took flight.
McCullough is the author of ten books including “1776” and “John Adams”, for which he won the Pulitzer Prize for biography. McCullough is a two-time winner of the Pulitzer Prize and the National Book Award and a recipient of the Presidential Medal of Freedom, the United States' highest civilian award. He has also worked with documentary film maker Ken Burns and narrated several of Burns’ films. McCullough was recently featured on the CBS News program 60 Minutes.

Tickets for the McCullough performance are $15 and are available at: Gray’s Department Store, 3860 N. Croatan Hwy., Kitty Hawk; Sea Green Gallery, 2404 S. Virginia Dare Trail, Nags Head; and Duck’s Cottage Downtown Books, 105 Sir Walter Raleigh St., Manteo. Tickets are also available online at bryanculturalseries.org.
The Bryan Cultural Series, a non-profit organization initiated in 2012, is composed of nine community leaders dedicated to bring a series of cultural events from a broad spectrum of the arts each year, drawing from the visual, literary and performing arts. Substantial support is provided by Village Realty, Dominion North Carolina Power, Towne Bank of Currituck and the Hilton Garden Inn Outer Banks of Kitty Hawk.
