The OBX Success Job & Career Fair

The OBX Success Job & Career Fair will be held 10 a.m. - 3:00 p.m., Saturday, March 29, 2014 at Jennette's Pier in Nags Head. This event is sponsored by the Outer Banks Chamber of Commerce and the Northeastern North Carolina Workforce Development Board.


Outer Banks businesses are invited to set-up vendor tables, accept applications and resumes on site. Vendor tables are available at just $50 and $75 depending on size and location. There is no admission fee on Saturday for those applying for jobs. To reserve a table, call the Chamber office at (252)441-8144.

Kellogg Supply Co. & The Cottage Shop - Customer Service Hardware, Customer Service Retail Gifts & Home D?cor; Contractor Sales, Kitchen & Bath Designers and Truck Drivers, Contractor Sales, Kitchen & Bath Designers, Truck Drivers. Computer knowledge preferred for all positions except truck drivers.


The Fresh Market - hiring Assistant Grocery Managers and Specialists, Bakers, Meat Cutters, and Seafood Specialists to staff their store.


Exercise and Healthy Eating - 18 years of age and older sought for Sales & Marketing. No experience needed, training provided. Need access to computer and phone skills required. Upbeat personality.

The Outer Banks Inn & Colonial Inn - front desk agent, housekeeper, room attendant, maintenance assistant. All positions need transportation.


Front Porch Cafe - If you are passionate about coffee, enjoy people, and are interested in working at The Front Porch Cafe we are currently hiring for part time and year round full time positions! We offer health insurance, 401k, paid vacation and free coffee!!

Dare County Library - The library has many resources that can help you in every step of your job search; books on resume writing and job interview skills, as well as books on job skills such as telephone skills, customer service, math skills, and computer skills. Computers are available at the library for you to search the web, use our online resources, or type your resume and cover letter. Ask library staff about Cypress Resume, an online resume builder and LearningExpressLibrary, an online resource that helps you practice and master interviewing skills and much more. **please note that the Dare County Library is NOT accepting applications at the Job Fair.

Dairy Queen - Store Manager to Oversee and manage all areas of restaurant; Shift Leaders - Applicant must be at least 18 years old. Assist in management of store with Store Manager; Hourly crew members : Applicant must be at least 16 years old. Learn to prepare and serve customers Dairy Queen treats and provide excellent customer service

ShamRock! For Local Music Festival

Why not celebrate St. Patrick’s Day along with the Beaufort Music Festival? On Sunday, March 16, beginning at 3 p.m., come to downtown Beaufort and enjoy food, beer and wine specials and great live music on Middle Lane.

This is a special celebration – the 26th annual Beaufort Music Festival line-up will be unveiled, local favorite The Spread will play their first live show in months and some new, exciting changes to the festival will be made public. Tickets include music and food and all proceeds from beer and wine specials will benefit the festival. If you look forward to the Beaufort Music Festival each May, as a local homeowner, business owner or purely a music lover, please come to show your support.

Interested sponsors are invited to a special lunch to be held on the same day before the fundraiser. Local band Kudubai will be playing for this invitation-only affair. Dare Day Festival

In its 39th year, Dare Day Festival is a free, fun-filled family event, presented by the County of Dare and the Town of Manteo. Dare Day is considered by locals as the official kick-off of summer. Over 100 vendors will open booths on the Manteo Waterfront and surrounding downtown areas to display a variety of beautiful items, delicious foods and drinks. Children will be able to ride a kiddie train, play games and enjoy an inflatable slide and moonwalk.

There will be plenty of local musical entertainment on two stages for the enjoyment of all ages.


The smell of seafood, polish sausages, hotdogs/ hamburgers, funnel cakes and kettle corn will fill the air. There will be homemade and soft serve ice cream as well as a variety of cold drinks to quench your thirst.


Come to the Dare Day Festival and make some memories.
